Cornerstone Community is a union congregation of members of The Presbyterian Church (USA) and The United Methodist Church in historic Lansingburgh – a residential urban community adjacent to, and just north of, Troy, New York.
Woven together through Christ we each have the potential to make a difference in the world around us in large and small ways. We hope that here at Cornerstone Community, you can grow in love as part of something that is larger than yourself – something that has meaning, value, and endless grace.
The Cornerstone Community congregation is proof that all things are possible in God. It is not that we have accomplished much by our own skills, patience and faith, but that God has been able to accomplish much through us… and continues to do so.
Our Congregational Vision is to:
◊ to experience the Good News of God’s love in Jesus Christ through worship and Christian education for all ages;
◊ to offer true spiritual sanctuary wherein all people can find forgiveness, grace, faith, and renewal in Christ;
◊ to use these gifts to strengthen our mission presence in the worldwide community.
In living out this Vision of what it means to be Church at Cornerstone Community we warmly welcome people of every age, race, ethnic or religious background, gender, sexual orientation, mental or physical ability, economic or family status.
On First Sundays we share in the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
We observe an open table at which anyone who seeks God’s grace and blessing is welcome.
